Welcome to ChemED08
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to join us at ChemEd08. This Chemical Education conference is organised by the Chemical Education Division of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute and will be held at Notre Dame University in Fremantle, Western Australia, from 29 November to 3 December 2008.
Program highlights will include presentations by internationally renowned plenary speakers, Carrick Award winners and the Chemical Education Medalist. Sessions will be run in parallel – one will focus on chemical education pedagogy and research and the other on teaching at the secondary school level. Each of the four days would start with a shared plenary address and the rest of the day would be broken up into a variety of seminars, workshops and other presentations varying from 20 mins to 90 minutes in duration.
ChemEd conferences have proven to be an excellent forum for hearing the latest in chemical education research and teaching strategies from leading educators, as well as sharing your own findings and strategies. It is a great opportunity to meet with other dedicated educators and build networks in a warm and friendly environment.
The conference will be held in the port city of Fremantle, which is renowned for its easy yet vibrant lifestyle. It is home to some of Western Australia's most beautiful heritage buildings, great beaches and a wide variety of excellent restaurants. Sitting on the edge of the Indian Ocean, Fremantle is one of Australia’s premier locations and will be a magnificent setting for our scientific meeting.
We hope you will take this opportunity to join us in Fremantle and once again, a very warm welcome.
